Confession

Confession: Sometimes I let Jackson watch TV just so I can get good snuggles. He snuggles with me when we read books, which is a much more wholesome activity, but I have to keep my arms somewhat free so I can turn the pages. But when we watch a movie together, I can get my arms completely tangled around him and bury my face in his yummy-smelling hair. It's one of the best feelings on earth. I miss the days when I didn't have to trick Jackson into snuggling with me.

While having a gun safety talk with the boys, we were explaining that if they ever found a gun somewhere, they should never touch it, because you never know if it's loaded. Jackson replies with, "Right. You can't tell if it has bullets in it just by looking at it, just like you can't judge a book by its cover."

Mom: "Yes."
Fisher: "Wait, is he the boss of you? Or are you the boss of him?"

Fisher: "When I was 3 and you cut my fingernails, it felt like you were chopping my hand off. But now that I'm 4, it just feels like marshmallows."
